Alright boys... Here we go!! The International is comin together finally!! So Scouttank set up the Scout at a height with some tack welded square tubing that is bitchin for some rock crawlin and also having a very low center of gravity! It's lookin mean and ready for some wheeling!!

So here is the tentative height and look of the ih4ever Revival!!

More of the inside of the top. All of the cuts Scouttank did to get it to fit.

And finally the door jam spacing. Doesn't look too bad at all!!

Thanks! Scouttank spent a lot of time on it. We added small strips of metal along the cuts to add to the thickness of the metal to help in the welding process.

That is looking great!

Have you tried the hold a piece of copper or aluminum against the sheet metal while welding trick? I suck at welding sheet metal and blow through it without some backing.

No not yet. I had an old timer tell me about the aluminum trick, but have never used it. Might be something to look into.

We got a few things done today...

Went to PNP and found a pitman arm from a heep that will work for the drop i need. And found a steering box that I could match the high pressure line with, since the scout box line didn't match the Chevy lines. And found some braided steel fuel lines for the TBI.

Bought some new (to me) exhaust manifolds to help clear the four link setup.

[IMG][/IMG]

Got a nice little item in the mail the other day...

8" stroke, 1.75" diameter.
[IMG][/IMG]

Scouttank cut the bottom of the 14bolt. And tack welded the new shave kit to the bottom. We tried several places to get the ring gear turned down. But nobody local could turn it due to the hard metal. So off to the grinding wheel it'll go.

I did my ring gear on a mill with just a 3/4" end mill with a rotary table. My buddy tried a lathe and was no good. It destroyed inserts like they were nothing. I cant remember what kind of inserts they were though.

I know Scouttank won't post on here but he says thanks!! He's helping me out BIG time on this build! He does awesome work!

The 14b is done besides a new diff cover. Ill post pics later on that.

Scouttank made this bad boy up over the week. 1/4" plate all the way around

Have the tranny mount/Klune all in one. And mounted to the skid plate. It's not all done and welded. We're also going to add in a t-case torque bar/mount. But here it is almost done.

Looks like your making some good progress. I know PSC sells a 6.75 ram for the D60 too. I have there 8" but have to add some spacers to limit it.

More stuff

Scouttank put together the skid plate over yesterday and today! Looking nice and sexy!! All the running gear is supported!

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Pretty even with the four link brackets. Makes it nice and easy to slide off rocks and such.
[IMG][/IMG]

Here's a pic of the np205 torque mount.
[IMG][/IMG]

As promised.. Pics of the 14b done (almost)

You can see the amount of the ring gear that needed to be grounded down.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

And if you didn't notice in the pictures above.... The rear axle is under springs and is on its own weight!!

[IMG][/IMG]

I had ordered too long of springs so instead of going through the hassle of sending them back and trying to figure out what size to get, we made due with what we had and out boarded the coils. Looked good, and should help with the stability. Heres a pic of the top coil brackets we came up with.

Made some real progress today!! Got the whole Scout on springs!!!

Setup the front coil overs and the shock hoops! Starting to come together.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Max extension...
[IMG][/IMG]

Also got the rear fenders tacked in place.

[IMG][/IMG]

Got the steering fixed. Put the new pitman arm in and dropped the drag link right where it needs to be.

[IMG][/IMG]

Drag link pretty much level with the tie rod. We shook the body of the Scout and after the new pitman was installed the steering wheel did not move at all!! Just the way it should be!

The scout hasn't had much done to it since the last posting. Multiple things are happening in life that are slowing it down some. Parents are separating, and my wife and I are seeing if we can buy their house. Scouttank got started working on a great new job, and working for the state only gives me a paycheck once a month. So now that some funds are in, progress is starting back up.

Waiting on a fuel pump, fuel lines, tranny cooler and tranny lines from summit. Bought a new radiator to run. Just a factory Chevy aluminum.

Getting the scout prepped for a roll cage, hopefully next week. Gonna have a buddy use a mandrill tube bender. I have a design in mind, hopefully it turns out great.

Scouttank got the front portion of the cage done today. We're gonna leave it like this and tack the rest of the cage to it, so that way I can still take this portion out and finish out my dash. Then once were done, it will all get welded.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Built some rock sliders as well... For the most part they are finished. Welded to the frame and have tubes going to the bottom of the roll cage feet. Making them pretty dam sturdy.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Here she is back up on the trailer. Going to get the front engine compartment tubed and the rear shock hoops bent/installed tomorrow.

It looks really weird with the skinny tires on it.
[IMG][/IMG]

And that's about it for now. Next steps, roll cage, brake parts, and fuel system.

Thx.
The coils are from a company called Suspension Spring Specialists. Just google "blue coil spring" and they should be at the top. I got these in a kit I purchased awhile back. The are 3" ID, 16" long (I believe) with a spring rating of 350 lbs each. That's 700 lbs to push the scout down 1". Well see how they do. They way we out boarded them, we can always push them down, which will lift the suspension up if we needed to.

You have to figure there's going to be a 42" spare, fuel, roll cage, gear and tools. That's a shit load of weight back there. And I want a slight rake when it's empty so it sits level when loaded.

Hoped this helped.
