I am still trying to get my rig to run on all 8. I installed a different dizzy that was a lot tighter fitting. (the cap on the old dizzy would move a lot). Installed new points and condenser. But still only running on a few cylinders.
Anyone know the resistance on a spark plug wire? I tried to test with my meter on several and never got a reading. The plug wires were new 2 years ago andf since I have never driven teh rig you would think they would be ok. I think I may need to replace them.
I like the MSD "cut your own" universal fit sets. That way I can route them the way I want. I have tried Accel and Muroso (sp?) in the past and liek the MSD's better, for the price.
Still the same cylinders not firing?? or did a couple come back to life with the new cap and rotor?
Have you checks/switched around the spark plugs? Check the gap and maybe move a couple around, maybe you have a bad one.
I got it started (I use the term lightly) it is running as bad as ever but I do not have the same plugs firing now. I only got to check one side last night. working 12 hour shifts sucks.
1, 3, 5, are dead but 7 worked,
running real rough. did get an idle for a couple minutes.
I plan to pull the plugs maybe this weekend and check them out.
any other ideas???? what about the coil? could it be bad?
