Ok, I have a '76 CJ5 hunting Jeep (meaning clapped out). I have a guy who wants to trade me a '78 Scout for it. It looks like it is in better shape than my pos. It has a 345, 4 speed (T-18?) and a Dana 300. It runs good. The interior is ragged. What should I look for on this thing? What goes bad on Scouts?
A 78 should have a T19 and Dana 20. The 300 was 1980 only. Quick ID on the D300, is that it has aluminum rear output and speed cable exits the case on the pass side.
