I have a scout 800 with 345,SII running gear and 33" Boggers. I have a D60 out of a pickup, and I wanted to know if the 44 rear will be enough. I fully plan to drive it hard and I know the 30 spline 44 is strong. The 60 will cost me 300$ is it worth the $$$ or is the 44 plenty for me....
well i ran a 44 with my 33' boggers on my old 76 teara and never broke it i was only 17 at the time so it got run hard every day after school in the mud and sand i haddent learnd about rocks yet

Anybody run a spool in the rear? Right now I have factory trac-loc and I wonder if the 44 will handle the weekend trips?? The Scout is for 4x4 only never on pavement.
hay a 44 if its one pice can hold yes a 35 spline 60 is getter but is the loss of ground clearance worth it if its a 30 spilne 60 yor better off with good shafts in the 44 just my 2 cents
Did you even read the post? It says sII running gear.
A SF 60 is bearely better than the 44 in my oppinion. But it'd be real easy to mod up to a 35 spline. Either way it will be a lot wider than the 44 you have now.
$300 for a SF 60 isn't an upgrade for a 44 that you already have...if it was $150 then pick it up...but you still have 30 spline SF shafts, and you already have that with a 44.
Run the SII D44 till it :nuke:'s, then build something bigger.
never popped any rear 44 parts with 33's, rocks and a spool, yet. Will someday.
If you got a killer deal ($300 is not a killer deal) on the SF IH pu 60, and were going to build a wider front, then I'd say yes. Run it till it blows, then order up some 35-spline shafts for it. Till then, run what you brung.
