i have been wonderin the same thing! I took off the sanden (sp) but i guess they are supposed to work to, but it doesn't matter cause if you get a different intake, you can't use the stock pump anyways! Lets figure this out.
seems to me that i only have 2 grooves for belts on my main pulley, so would you run it off the PS pump or the alt? sort of centered perhaps? hmmm, the caddy sits way lower, so the comp. could sit pretty high above it...
im gonna draw some ideas, any body else have any??
what about using the Sanden if you have a aftermarket intake, or the stock one if you have the stock setup? I think I read somewhere a long time ago that someone had used standoffs to mount the stock compresser higher to clear the Elelbrock manifold
I squeezed it in. Pulleys I have I beleive are 1970?, 3 groove on crank and 2 on water pump. The 2nd groove on the pump is a larger diameter. I fabbed the bracket for the right side putting the altenator(12si delco) down low with the adjusting slide on bottom. The alt is right up against the block, CLOSE in order to get the belt to line up. The top of the bracket has a flat for the York to bolt to, with the compressor head to the center(sits like it does on the IH motors). The A/C compressor and P/S pump sit in the stock Caddy locations. First belt runs P/S, second runs A/C + P/S, third runs alt + water pump and the larger diameter groove on the pump runs the York. The IH york pulley wouldn't work, I went to the junkyard and found one that had two grooves and I only use the back groove. I've swapped the intake for a performer so the A/C is missing now, I plan to get a sanden. Worst part was the alt, if i had to do it again I'd find a smaller alt, maybe one off an asian car.

Thanks for the info. So I take it all your brackets are 1970? I think I have completely different brackets and pulleys on my '74. Is this on a Scout? Email me some pics too if you got them.
