well I got the hacked out intake on my 345. The iron got to thin to directly bolt a carb on it. So I screwed a 1/2" plate (with the spredbore pattern) on top with a bunch of counter sunk machene screws. Then the carb/mixer bolted to the plate. I never did test a carb on it. Biging a singleplane I figured i'd lose some low rpm torque but with the 425 mixer ther was no power loss at all. I'd say ther is a slight bit more power in the lower RPMs. But it works and cost me fawk all
I hear what your saying, but propane does have fare superior mixing capabilitys over gas, You should have a look at the stock manafold for a caddy 425! its a single plane joke! and just as fawked up as mine.
