Its actually a traveler with the fibre glass roof off, an its place is a cage and custom soft top. specs are:
304 efi, 4l60e auto [both common in our holden = cheap and plentiful]
hilux transfer [not ideal but it was free and ive had no issues with it]
d44 front; nissan h260 rear [37spline 1.5" axles, 10.5"crown]
SOA with custom 4" springs [fronts same length as rear]
38.5" claws on 15x10 american racing alloys
trimmed guards and custom bar work
thats the main spec's, lots off onther bits and pieces.
guidolyons, some states here are very strict but we can get an automotive engineer to go right over the vehicle and do a certificate which can then be used to register it by, everything but the wheels and tyres is completely legal.

Bigger Stronger diffs arriving in the next couple of weeks.

That is quite the list. You have used some odd parts on it. It looks great
Do you have any pictures during the build of it?

Sounds like what I had to go through in Hawaii, they have a reconstruction inspection for modified vehicles. The recon inspection is only required on Oahu though

Nice Scout

Your right it is a bit of an odd ball, and thats the way i like it, but unfortunatally over here we dont have a good supply of really strong diffs and transfers unless we import from the US at $$$, second hand you dont get to see for your self or new even more $$$.
I dont have too many build up pics, ill see what i have and start a thread.

Here's the newest project, 79 Scout II, 304, 4 speed.

Going to do the resto-mod deal on this one.

List of parts:
LS1
NV4500
Dana 300
Gm 60 front, 14 rear
Full cage
Nice stereo system
Going to do a burnt orange/ flat black paint scheme
37" BFG's, Racelines

Father/son project. Going to keep it full bodied, with A/C and heat, basically a cool street truck, occasional weekend mountain road rig, then when the boy turns 16 his first truck/panty dropper.

Alright, my turn. Our $1300.00 pos that I just bought sight unseen and had tow to the house;

(note(s)-2-self----C/List pics always look better than real life, never buy a vehicle sight unseen, and one lady's 'funny noise now and again' is another man's worn bearings, bad lifter and FKWE issues. Whatever, #1 Daughter digs it---and it should last at least another 128 miles)...

But despite the fact that the 304 is noisier than crap, the ignition key is gone, the starter is now a push button, the brakes suck, the front rotors are warped, the t-case won't get to N or 4L, second-to-third up shifts on the 727 are soggier than a wet Ritz, the dizzy is bouncing up & down, the plugs look like they were dredged up from the La Brea tar pits, the diff fluids looks like molasses, the gauges are all over the place, there's no horn, no fuel cap, the PVC's were both plugged to shell, three vacuumn leaks at the hoses, late Kali registration, a salvage title and no radio...what's the first thing a responsible Scout owner does? Take off the frickin' top. Duh, that'll fix most of this shit......

But within 36 hours of getting her to the house, we changed the oil and filter twice, Sea Foamed, timed her, topped off all the fluids, f'd with this and that, stuck in some new plugs, blah-fukitty-blah and made it to our smog guy---who actually passed it (thank you, nameless Korean Man Who Loves Del Taco gift cards). The next morning (before going to the gun range to shoot a bunch of flying clay zombie honey badgers with some hung over sailing pals ) I hit AAA, got her registered AND insured (and yes, for anyone who cares, you can get collision, theft and what not coverage on a salvaged vehicle). Made the 70 mile r/trip with zero issues------except for the extra grey hairs I got from watching the new oil pressure gauge go from 47 to 22 on the 605 for an hour an a half.

Oh well, it 'tis what it 'tis.....

(Oh yeah, spent $30.00 on a ninety minute deep cleaning spa treatment for her this morning---think she lost about 50lbs. of old mascara and three tons of desert dirt, so our mpg's should go up at least .005% now).
