Questions on 76 Scout

I found this really POS Scout for cheap. Its got tons of Bondo on it and walmart camo paint on it. To top it off it has this cheesy bullbar type bumper up front. I looked at it briefly and laughed (to myself) and walked away. Now since yesterday my mind is thinking, and I am looking at a tube buggy/rock crawler. I am thinking of buying this thing, taking the V8, Auto tranny and VIN. Selling the axels, I believe its a 44 in front and not sure of the rear. Going to go with a Atlas or Stak t-case so I don't want the stock one. I will probably also steal the front grill and make it work on what ever I come up with. Anyways, can I get suggestions from you guys that know these things inside and out. Is the tranny and engine any good for my project. I relieze I will probably need to rebuild both. Are the axels and t-case worth anything? What other parts are worth $$. Its got a removable top and its the long version of the Scout.

Thanks,

zman

Look through the FAQ. There are Scout based buggies and other shit to get your mind really thinking. There is a link to a place that has all kinds of info on the stock specs.
