Weekend report 29-30

Saturday I built a bumper. 4x2x1/4, tabs are 5x3x1, go all the way through and are welded on both sides. Since I don't own any high tech tools I used my angle grinder and stick welder to build it, including all the cutting, probably about 5 or 6 cutting blades, and a little help from the chop saw. Now I just have to figure out how I want to mount it to my Scout. If I want it on the outside of the body I'd have to make some frame extensions. I'll think about it during the week.

My stick welding isn't the prettiest.

Saturday night I went to this girls house who I haven't seen in ten years. Now she's sending me lovey dovey emails and I don't know how or when to break her heart. I don't think I'll let things go too far.

Today I got up[ late from a late night (see above) and drove across the state to pick up my brother from Guard drill, dropped off some gears at ChiScouter's house, (clean out your pm box) and that was about it. 330 miles later I back home cussing at theis stupid computer for not letting me upload pics to post.

Last weekend I melted the tranny cable and came to the conclusion I needed to cut and shorten the bag mounts. Today I finished up replacing the tranny cable and my tranny mount (torn in half) and took her for a spin. I still need to shorten the bag mounts but it felt good

Poser shot

Shot of the setup

Here you can see the bag mount that needs to be shortened

Just about ready for memorial, I need to do an oil change, add breathers front/rear and build and extra set of d-shafts.

The girl is in town, my brother has to go across the state for his Guard duty each month. He doesn't have a license, so he can't drive.

Tell your mom it's not your fault the shop fawked up painting the bumper.

How is that diff cover/truss working out for ya? I hear that using the diff cover bolts tends to break the bolt heads off or cause leaks, but I don't remember anyone doing it like you did. It looks removable or hinged or both?

Shouldn't be a problem, my front diff ring has the ram mounted to it without a problem. I can completely unbolt the cover, or just swing it up.

well you could just be friends with benefits

yeah i could tell her that but i dont think she'll buy it?!? and now its making some funky noise when you put the AC on?? who the fuck knows whats going on... i think im really screwed on this... i dont know why she had to get it... it was her dads and he passed away, but now, with new car payments, and it HAS to have 91 octane to drive, (bullshit) so now its costin her more than what its worth... especially when her gas is about 3.20 a gallon.

Wrenched, did yard work, reworked some plumbing under the how (about 8 hours worth), and changes allot of diapers

Finished the rewire of the race truck. Relocated the battery (again) and put the finishing touches on the new ignition/control center box. Turned out pretty well. Also finally put a new set of wires, cap/rotor that I've had sitting in a box for 6+ months. After sitting in front of the garage for a week I finally fired it all up again and did some hot laps around the neighborhood. Runs pretty damn good, but is very wobbly on way aired down swampers running tubes. Kind of fun when you wiggle the wheel on the road I can light the rears up pretty easily, time to spool the rear . I really like the new seating position and harnesses. Now I just need a new shifter and to relocate it so I can operate it fully strapped in.

Also installed gimble mount cup holders in the trail truck ... only had them kicking around for 5 years.

other good news is that my lawn I worked on damn hard last year is really coming in nicely.... over seeded the crap out of it last week, should nice and full in a couple weeks

Rained like a MO-FO on Saturday. But I still got everything I wanted done this weekend. Made the wife happy as well.... here car in back in the garage after being excelled for a week as I worked on refinishing a dresser... among other things.

busy weekend now that I type is all out!

Drove the fuelie street Scout 500 miles.. something in the 12mpg neighborhood at 75mph. The 304 is adequate in the power department with 3.73/33s.. just about talked myself into watching for a deal on some 2" lift springs and lowering the Scout.. dump the 4" Triangle/33s for a 2" SJ and 31s. Too damn much wind in this state..

Went to the M4x4A Annual Convention.. got stuck in the Pres position for another year..

Stopped in Bozeman on the way back.. dropped off a Parker Pumper for a buddy, took the Champion back to CostCo (well, almost.. I'll finish the deal Wed).. went down the street and bought a T-Maxx 9k from MJ before heading for home.

Confirmed the T-Maxx fits my bumper - even better than the Champion did - but need some new bolts to finish mounting it up.

I moved out!! Working for Binder Books, rock crawling and trying to keep this old iron moving kept me at the homestead after graduating. A buddy of mine bought a house, offered me a great deal on rent, so I spent the majority of this weekend moving. Had a really good Binder Bee meeting on Sunday morning, then finished moving the bulk of my stuff over. I am stoaked about moving out, but not looking forward to cooking and shopping. Guess I'll have to get use to it again!

Friday, cleaned my engine bay up a bit, then bed lined the wheelbarrow, since it was left out in the rain a few days ago. Saturday and Sunday took an Orvis flyfishing class, so no scout work. Did catch some nice fish though (one nice one for me, my wife caught 14!! - her first time landing a fish with a fly too!) Hope to drop the newer 304 into the scout this week, and get back up and running.

Friday uglyscout and I wheeled with a few other scouts.

saturday I junkyarded my FI parts for the wagon master. $7.50 for everything but TB and ECM. those are only $25 each. So im hoping with the fuel pump I can be FI for under $175

Sunday we had wheeling lessons for the old lady.

this week I need to get ready for the trail clean up. thats gonna be fun.

I did nothing with my truck.

I spent the weekend in meetings or running a tractor on the farm.

I suck, I know...

Tuesday night I had a date equaling smiles from the lady...thanks again Diesel Smoke... BUT she was not really all there...ha ha ha. Very engaging in the electronic world, but face to face dynamics were lets say off...Here is the Eye Candy for the IH'ers though...

Wednesday night I had a date with a different girl in Tacoma...resulting in makeout session in a closet

Thursday night yet another date with yet another girl in Oak Harbor...resulting in crashing on her sofa as Oak Harbor is BFE away from my place. In the morning I tried to leave early to make it straight to work...she had other plans...after a thorough BJ she let me go relieved of pressure. Late to work but they understood...

Friday I had my boys

Saturday had my boys and went to a wedding reception and stared at some hot chicks who were looking to be loved.

Sunday I gave my boys back...then had another date with the girl from Wednesday. She drove up to my neck of the woods and bought me dinner...then after a thorough hand job and about 5 gallons of results...she left at midnight.

This morning I got up at 4:00am to catch my flight to come to Memphis...

Wheeeewwww.....

"She" was probably a shemale.... that's why you only got a handjob. "She" doesn't want to reveal "her" secret yet. It's OK, HOS.... you can come out of the closet now. We've all known for some time now.....
