I've heard that is only good if your actually Painting Over Rust, I figure I'll use some sort of epoxy paint like they use on machinery or something or other. If your gonna go to that extent ya might as well make it look clean I figure.

Today my budy Glenn stoped by and we got a bit done on the front , we cut 10" out of the nose and dovetaild in the fenders. I am trying to keep the inner fenders intact. It would have been easier to cut them out but I would like to keep them.

Today I played with the hood, WOW! that part is tough. I started with ,a not so straight hood so i'm not going to feel so bad if I botch it, but this is a job.

your bumper looks MONSTEROUS next to that dovetail job

Hood looks pretty good, I think most people just cut the sides.

Those 38's look a bit worn and still the same or slightly bigger than the 39.5s. This is about what I've seen in the past.

so how do you jokers (Damien ) figure the 39.5 are so ginormous?

Looking good Dan. Yea, the hood was a real bitch for me too. I narrowed mine 10"s front and rear, and drop the nose down 2"s. Should be able to paint it this weekend. Doug

Hey Doug , I was looking at your latest pics looks like you are readey to paint. I did my hood a little dif than yours , I should have looked at it sooner. never the less it is what it is. I am trying to keep iners but they may come out. I like the bay bars you did. What size mat. did you use?

All the tubing is 2" .120 wall. Rocker guards are 4x2x.120. One of the main reasons I cut mine down was to try and lighten it up. I weighed it in Dec. after I put the front 60 in. With all my gear in it, 36 gallons of fuel, and without me in it, it weighed in at 5900#'s. That was my reason for removing my inner fenders, heater, ect. Once I get it back together I'll weight it again. http://sonic.net/~rgmadm/winecountry...lbum=71&pos=27

Honestly, you need to take pictures of those tires standing right up against each other. And the second shot of them is looking down at them, giving a visual effect of them being the same size.

Honestly, I'm interested to see how different they really are if you get eye-level and put those two together. Right now the difference looks slight, but I have a hunch when you ptu them together, iti'll be more like an inch or more.
