There's a confusing one over on the BB.

I'd like to do the conversion myself since my choke isn't working so well.

I finally made a little progress on my Scout. It doesn't look like much but it is a 76' Scout II body on a shortened 76' J20 frame my Scout frame was junk.
D60 rear, 8 lug d44 front 4:56's, 360 AMC, T18,D20. I used the stock J20 springs spring over in the front, inboarded F250 rear springs with a couple leafs removed. So I have done a ton of work to build a Scout that looks like it has a 6" lift and 3/4 ton axles.
Edit: The body is not going to set that high I got it setting on some blocks to give a little more room when working, the body should drop about 3"

I'm pondering of what i can do to get some susspension under my scout, maybe start out with a spring under.. anyone direct me to a something that i can virtually bolt on with not much modification? the thing is i dont own a welder or anything to do heavy mods quite yet. and im interested in getting a welder if anyone knows of someone that has one for sale..

There are a bunch of companies that make bolt on kits. Guessing you have a scout II call up skyjacker, rough country, superlift, or someone like deaver spring or something can make you some nice custom ones. Model of your scout would help narrow down the possibilities.

Scott- watch the classifieds over on race-dezert.com cheap shocks pop up all the time. You can get decent shocks with coils a lot of times for less than what your gonna spend on the bargain basement FOA's.

I am going to use the stock Saginaw without the bracket. See my pic there are 2 bolt holes just behind the pitman, this is the bracket. This mounts the box so the pitman goes fore/aft, If I lay in directly on the frame it moves side/side. Nice thing is the bolt holes match up perfectly.

The new front end is from a 75 K20 and is already flat top, just need to get drilled for hysteer arm.
Your looking for a 74,75 truck oil pan for a rear sump only.
The one pictures is a 73 or earlier.

here a link with pictures on pan types. You will need a Scout Oil pump and pickup. Double check to make sure the pickup is about 1/4 off the bottom of the pan.

Or move the engine back a few inches.
