Got a killer idea in my head of the finished product.... and thats only change about 50 times or so

Are you mounting those coils outside the frame, and is this a 4-link?

Levi, have you driven that thing yet? if so, how well does the Z link work?

I am having some major issues with clearance and may need to do crossover that way.

Right now its a no-link

Original plan was to mount the coils outside the frame, but for packaging and performance I'm seriously thinking air-shocks, and some day coil overs. Original plan was a 3-link with pan, but looking hard as squeaking a full 4-link in there instead.

Right now, all that has been moved back out of the garage and is sitting next to the house so I could get the wheeling rig/racer ready for Naches. Time to move it all back in now that I have even more parts. Tossing around the idea of loosing the whole frame and building from scratch, but that opens up a whole new can of worms as well. Told you it was a slow build

What kind of issues are you having. The only problem I have is I lost about an inch of turning radius to the left. The Z bottoms out on the tie rod by the TREs. I spent alot of time measuring before I built the link to make sure I cleared the springs. I am going to wheel it as is for a while while I save up for high steer.

I have an oilpan right in the way of the crossover swing.

I have heard a Scout pan has the sump in the rear, but I am working on getting a 392 so I don't want to waste the money/effort on that. At least with the Z link I will be able to re-use most of the big money parts or sell off to someone.

ScoutII have a front and rear sump with a hump between the two. Might give you what you need to get the link to clear. What kind of steering box are you gonna use, location?

I will have to investigate that pan. Does it use a different oil pump/pick-up?

I am going to use the stock Saginaw without the bracket. See my pic there are 2 bolt holes just behind the pitman, this is the bracket. This mounts the box so the pitman goes fore/aft, If I lay in directly on the frame it moves side/side. Nice thing is the bolt holes match up perfectly.

The new front end is from a 75 K20 and is already flat top, just need to get drilled for hysteer arm.

FWIW I'm very happy with my 4-link. I think it's pretty straight forward. With the brackets available, it's become a weekend install.

I'm waiting a month or two for the front, FOA shocks is comming out with a 2" coilover at, what is expected to be a reasonable price, and should be very adaquate for my needs.

No one cares about you until you do two things.
1. Put a big red arrow on a pic of your rig identifying the IH parts
2. Post the video of you breaking Rockwells.

I'd post a pic of my rear disk conversion, but my laptop died and I don't have an SD card reader on this computer.

So my neighbor gave me his scout that kinda caught on fire under the hood. Its a 79 Scout II with 345 and dana 44s.. has a thermal quad(junk) that im thinking of replacing with a quadrajet. I should have this thing running by this Thursday, only the harnes from the fire wall to distributer and alternator were effected. few hoses and vacuums that need replaced nothing i cant handle. I plan on getting this thing running and hopefully do a spring over with 52in chevy springs in the rear and im guessing 4in springs in the front. keep it simple till i can get some full width axles and go with a linked suspension..

lil fire damage.. not too bad.

looks like we have some mini van seats ..
