Sick rig.

I understand the change of heart but hate to see these things get built and sold. What are you thinking of if you sell?

Dude... I feel you. I go through this routinely with my junk. Life's priorities and my wants seem to play havoc.

Combine that with the ever present pressure of public land closures...and sometimes I am in a like "just scrap it" mood.

I wont scrap the hobby. I would like to go toward a 4 seat tube chassis and maybe race a little locally and get my boys more into the sport. The wife went to the reno races and got to ride in a buddy's buggy. She had fun, so.................

You just got the go fast bug.

Your rig is built like a tank, but it is well set up and will take a beating. The only thing I can think of would be a little better shock set up in the rear, packaging after the thought could be an issue though.

The worst thing about a rig you build is that if you you never get what its worth out of it, your lucky if you can even brake even on just the base price of the parts.

Oh damn D, get ready to whip out the check book, this racing gets spendy. On a side note I know up travel is limited in your rig.

How much up travel do you have currently?

Have you considered doing a rear 4-link set up like Jimmy's buggies have? (essentially a reverse 4 link) Seems to work very well on race rigs, and may give you the clearance you need for more up travel)

slow progress, very litle time. I think I am going to need to cut the caliper stands off and rotate them so I can outboard the lower coilover mount more. Its either that or notch the frame.

Full bump

not full bump, but the other side broke loose from the tacks

I switched to coilovers last year when I changed engines. Big improvement over coils and shocks.

between christmas and an unexpected trip to LA for a funeral i havent had much time. Ive had some set backs. Had to cut the fuel cell for clearance around the coilover towers and am going to have to clock the rear brakes out of the way so I can kick the lower mounts out. which means I have to cut the old mounts off, and likely make new ones.

Ill take some pics today

Sorry to hear about the LA trip, those are always shitty.

1 step forward, 2 steps back every time on every piece of a project

pics suck, but I have been busy.

-bumps and upper coilover brackets are final welded.
-Gas tank is notched, welded for upper mounts
-some of floor pans are complete.
-Bought a goatbuilt console for the shifter. would have like to build it, but just dont have time
-started working on new klune/tranny cradle mount
-notched front truss for crank pulley clearance
-started mocking up 3" exhaust to replace the 2.5. The 393 needs to breathe
-started redoing rear trunk area to fit around C/O's
-started mocking up new filler set up for tank.
cut off rear disc brake brackets I made 10 years ago, and am preparing to clock them
-picking up tranny on tuesday, and then things start going back together. Once in, I can set rear axle angle, order drveshafts, and set final lower coilover mounts. Ive been having a hell of a time with those, due to them being on the rear of the axle, and running out of misalignment for the lower bushing.

Here is a couple shitty pics.

just pics of progress. Since adding the auto, Ive been having some dificulties keeping it cool under load and higher rpms. In order to put a larger radiator, I had to change to a crossflow radiator with a return on passenger side. Had to build a crossover to make it work. Also added a few other pics

also made new skins to try and drop some weight. Made new wye pipe and rerouted 3" exhaust around the new coilovers. Also put a new trickflow intake on, and made a new tranny mount that ties into the klune mounting foot I remade.
