1980 Terra diesel, Whats it worth?
There is this 1980 Terra turbo diesel 4wd-4spd for sale. It has rotted rockers, floors and few dents but most the parts are there. I already have too many projects but if its a steal and i could turn a buck on it if i decided not to keep it i'd probably buy. So what do you think its worth?

I paid $300 for two just about like that in MN a few years back.
I got a much cleaner one that I drove around for a month for $500 in MN.

$2.73
It's one of those cases where the sum of the parts is worth less than the individual parts.

dude, that thing has to be rare and considered vary valuable. Take a second mortgage and go buy that thing, give them at least $20k for it. It has the Gen. Lee's number scraped off with the faded orange paint for god's dake!!!!

It still is salvagable, remember this is the rustbelt here, so this is the norm. I've never really seen one of these before, plus it has a turbo diesel so i didn't know if it was rare, or had some more significant value to a scout fanatic, but it appears its nothing that special.
If i were to buy it i'd part the drivetrain out anyways a drop a big block mopar, full size axles in it and cut it up and tube it up, and i'd hate to start slicing up something that someone would want to attempt to restore. BTW they're asking $400 for it |

Well not worth restoring. There are to many better rigs to start with. The only value is in the Terra top and the front axle. Also like was said earlier the Dana 300. IF it has one. I have bought a couple of 1980s that didn't have the 300. So not even that can be for sure. $400 would be fair if you needed some of the parts but if you are trying to turn it your $ will be tied up awhile. I'd pay that for it if it was here but I have buyers waiting for most of those parts

FWIW we just bought one in about the same shape for $1k, kept the motor/tranny/tcase and sold everything else off it, including the old 345 out of the truck the diesel went into, and broke even or were close to it. Damned if I remember what we sold, it's written down somewhere.

Keystone is worth way more than that scout.

I moved back to Oregon 5 years ago --- It probably wasn't for sale back then. Otherwise I would have bought it and cut it up like the rest if them...
