What is a decent price for a set of stock skidplates of a Scout II(78 SSII I think??) Saw a set for sale for about $250 and was wondering if that was a good deal or not. I just mainly need the one for the tranny X-fer case. I dont think the front engine will fit on a lifted Scout. The owner said that that it covers to the bottom of the front diff. TIA

Right...In my opinion the front axle skid plate is a joke <IMG SRC="smilies/rainbow.gif" border="0">.
The one from the oil pan to the TC has it's downfalls but I like it and think it's cool, I've used that one. Don't forget to get the mounting braket and hardware for it if you decide to buy it. I paid around $60 for mine around 8 years ago and I'd probably do it again.

$250.00 is way to much for a set, They are not that hard to make, i have the front one and the rear and i think i sold the middle one for $20.00. I have seen them on Ebay for alot cheaper than $250.00, thats a lot of cash if you are only going to use the middle one.
