Weekend report January 2-3 2010

Ok I'll start. Did some light wheeling at the local off road park. It was fun to just get out and drive around. Only pic is me washing it off

Updated my Scion dome light to a Cree 3 watt LED star @228 lumens
Yep I can see everything in my black interior just fine now.

I moved. Due to the holiday i had to spend a few days without water. I also realized just how little stuff I have, the only furniture is a computer desk. I left my bed and dresser to my brother who doesn't have either.

Hung out with my new little dude. It feels like I've been on vacation for weeks... Oh right I have been

I did sneak out into the garage a few time to pull my D44 front axle. Clean it up - cut off some crap, move the spring perches back to Chevy width and sell it to pay for some D60 parts. Yippee. I never thought it would sell, but I got some non-wheeler to jump all over it. He had to have a locker and high steer....

Now I just need to get a few more parts and start the D60 build.

Must be nice.... when I moved a little over a month ago, it took 3 trips with a 26' box truck and about 8 trips with my pickup.

worked on a.k.a. tore my scout apart. Nothing worth updating the thread with, but the springs/axles are out, tanks are out and roll bar is out. Burned my self with the torch cutting my lugnutz off. Stared at scout wondering "what should I do now?"

Pulled the Scout back into the shop today, with the comealong. Had a doctors appt. at the VA yesterday. Watched my Broncos embarrass me Sunday. Routed my 3 phase extension cord to power my compressor and welder Saturday. Recovered from drinking too much Tequila, New Year's Eve, on Friday.

Lucky you! We won't see temps that high for awhile. And, they're calling for 4 more inches tomorrow.

Went on a snow wheelin trip. About 2-3' of fresh powder!

I started the Scout on fire (electrical) and then ran out of propane on the way out. I burned 2 tanks! I had to get drug the rest of the way.

Other than that it was sweet tho!

Worked most of the weekend plowing snow. But, on saturday I headed up north to check out a 83 Chevy 1 ton for the axles. Soon it will be mine.

The fawking wind shredded 2 fitted covers and 1 silver tarp from menards since the spring I bought the best 16x20 silver tarp from Gemplers for 84 bucks, we'll have to see how it holds up. After cutting away the remenants of the old tarp I put it inside for a couple days to dry out before wrapping it in the new cocoon. While I had it out I played around with a couple of hood scoops to see which one I want to keep.

The white one reminds me of a old 1960's mopar scoops turned backwards, and with some tweaking I think may be a keeper. It would be open front and back. What do you guys think?

Chi, screw the scoop Get you butt to work on that junk and bring it out here so we can beat the snot out of it. You have access to great parts just need to get busy on your Scout.
Worked on the 500 Scoutallic, nearly complete again, truth is I a little skerd to drive it, never which idiot will plow into ya (10 inches of fresh snow and subzero temps) Worked alittle on the 34 Hotrod, frame is all boxed, cab is canneled, RPT eng mounts completed, and got the motor mock up ready. Sure would be nice to have one of those 304 w/392 heads, plastic mock up motors.
I'll get some pictures posted as soon as I find my f_cking camera, sucks doing three projects at three locations
And by the way Chris Fresh I remember when I though +20 was coldits -28 here tonight, just checked the temp while I'm typing this. Guess the low temps keep the criminals out and population low here.
