Hi,
I thought I'd let the group here have first stab at 2 detroit lockers I have before I post it on the For Sale section tonight. They will accept 4.09 thru something like 4.88, one is the old style locker that goes BAM! when it engages and the other one is the newer style Soft Locker. They are both in perfect working order. I think $395.00 is a fair price.

Ya know, to get an idea how much to ask for these I opened up 4wd&sum and found an ad at drivetrain warehouse which listed the unit at $502.95.
So now I flipped to the back and now I see drivetrain direct ads listing it at $489, so WTF I'll list it at $375 and see who comes the closest. Actually, I do remember paying close to 5 bills with tax many moons ago. I also have some 4.09 gears too. BTW, these are off my old scout which I miss dearly.

The feedback is appreciated It does not appear to me that we are negotiating a sale, it's more like price analysis.
So I figure $340 is a good price (after analysis) for a used detroit and as most of us know, If installed properly, they very rarely break and should provide years of enjoyment.

The variables change. Fore instance, the 340 figure has adjusted twice. Perhaps as this analysis concludes, the results will demonstrate that you would be perfectly happy with 250 bucks and I would be happy with the locker... In addition, this analysis could conclude as soon as 2.5 hours from now! (I'm right around the corner) --Josh

I'm poor and I get Detroits dirt cheap but I just wanted to let any interested parties know that Joe V is a good guy to buy stuff from. I purchased a tranny from him for a fair price and it showed up when promised in good shape.

Then again I could come up with $500+ shipping for both Detroits and a set of 4.09s. Whatcha say

Joe V, how much for the 4.09's. Looking to regear my pig. I can pick up, no shipping hassels on you part. I've got IH parts to trade, I have a D20 twin stick setup plus a complete parts Scout. Let me know.

Someone is coming by tomorrow to look at the axles that the gears are in. If they are not interested, I'll let you know.

No the gears are not sold yet. There are some interested parties in the axles but nothing firm yet,
I'll let you know what the outcome is.
