I've been slighted. No mention of the SSII, which weighs even less with its lack of 500 lb doors and 500 lb traveltop!!! Sheesh.
Here is the straight scoop, from an old magazine I have. This is for the SSII, add 500# per door, and #300 for the top of a Scout II.

It says my truck weighs 3540 lbs. Empty. Probably pretty close.

I did. It is right here

Just add a few hundred for the top and doors!!! Or, better yet take the top and doors off, and make a real wheeling rig out of it. Doors and tops are for wimps anyway!!!

500# per door? you mean 50# right?

I changed hinges last week, door felt like about 80#. that was with the glass, chrome trim, regulator, window tracks, door latch, exterior handle, wing window,2 coats of hammerite, and 2 hinges, but no arm rest, no window crank handle, no interior latch handle, no interior cover or trim. so obviously yours may be more with your option package...lol

Hey!! I have it in black and white. Right there it says test vehicle weight was 3300 lbs and advertised weight is 3540, or something like that!! And, I have another one that says the curb weight is 3450. Here it is. This is from four wheel and off road, April 1978.

On the other hand, I think that is with 29 inch tires, no passenger seat, 18 gallon gas tank, no rear seat, no push bar, etc. Basically, the stripped out SSII, driver only, empty of gas. Still seems kind of light though.

After 1980, the metric system took hold, and 3500 lbs. now equals 4500 lbs.

OK 3500 lbs is not acurate at all. Especially with a 345. Those damn engines have to weigh 700lbs. Don't heeps weigh around 3500lbs? I think that on a low end maybe 4500lbs.
