Major differences...(I think):
80-Fold down windshield 800-Std Windshield, Kinda has a dashboard. I think that the 800 also switched to the center rear diff and model 20 x-case, but I'm not sure.

800 had a 304 V-8 option, plus optional rear 44. Plus a differatn raditor mounting to accomadate the V8. The 800A ran through 70, the late 70-71 saw the 800B which was a last minute hold over until the Scout II was ready. 800B's are very rare. Best source for production information is Binder Bulletin
Binder Check out the FAQ section. The boards over there are very tame compared to here, a lot of old timers can provide an enormous amount of info. Joe

The 80s and early 800s used a "swing" type door handle, the later 800s (my GF's 68) used a push-button door handle. The 80s all had Dana 18s (or were 2wd) with the offset rear. D27 front/rear for the most part. A 4cyl Scout 800 and a Scout 80 are pretty similar, with the 800 having the Dana 20 and centered rear diff. 800s had the 4spd option. 800s had a 152 or 196 option, Scout 80s had ONLY the 152. LOTS more differences in the I6/V8 S800s. Radiator moved, steering is different, and the tapered '44 rear with the V8s (and probably the 6s, but I've never looked) IIRC, the 800 was 67-69-ish. The 800A was around 1970, the 800B was a '71 model. 800A got round side-markers. I'm not sure what else they upgraded. The 800B has rectangular markers. 80/800 have no side markers up front. Those are probably the major differences.. along with the fold-down windshield, tho' my friend's '71 800B has a fold-down! It's a pretty nice rig with a 304/T18 and 3.73 gears. -Tom '68 800 w/ '75SII 304/closeT19 and 4.27s (GF's) '68 800 - orig I6, now a stripped tub.. '72, '74, '77, '77, '79 Scout IIs, plus the Truck n' T'all..

Not all 800s have tandem masters. I for one have a single master. I have a '66 800. I think that around '69 or '70 is when the tandem master came out. Needless to say I cann't wait to put in the Scout II master, and dana 44s

The firewall on 80s is a lot different then the 800s. I was looking at a clean 80 body to but to swap on for the fold down windsheild, but the firewall would have required major surgery to fit my 345. I'd love to see a pic of the 800B with the fold down windsheild. I've been thinking of modifying mine and need to do some R&D (rip off and duplicate)
