Post Daily Topic - Worth more in parts? - 10/11

I’ll admit it this topic is for me….

Is a Scout worth more in parts? I have a runner, was a really clean 75, now has rock rash on all the panels. I also have a second project Scout. The original plan was to run the 75 while I built up the other, then polish up the 75. The only way to ‘polish’ the 75 is to swap the tubs. Time has began to run out and due to time, work, and wife constraints I am seriously considering selling the parts and focusing only on the 75. BTW, the 75 is a daily driver, for now. So now it’s decision time, what would you do, or what have you done.

Divorce the wife, quit your job, and go live in A SCOUT DOWN BY THE RIVER!!

Seriously though you didn't say if you project Scout ran or what work it needs. If your 75 has rock rash I'd guess it's wheelable. From my many misadventures I've learned never to underestimate the value of a running project vehicle. At least then you can break it while you fix it up. Or just keep plugging away at your project and write off the 75 as a toy that kept you entertained and got you to work wgile you were building your other Scout. My $.03

Nothing wrong with driving the beater. That just gives you less to worry about on the trail.

Scouts are great - I got three free just for asking. But I admit there is a lot of parts wanted by, Jeeps, toys, as so awn.
If you can afford to keep the extra rig and you have the space - I would keep the parts. If your hard up for cash, sell the parts. You know your situation better than anyone.
If I had the space i would go gather a few more rigs and keep all the parts to make my own fleet of trucks. At least you got one that runs.
