France, Italy, Germany???? Touring Europe for 4 days after King of the Valleys
My wife and I have 4 days to travel starting a week from Sunday. We will in Wales for the King of the Valley race.
Anyone have ideas for a tour? Train would be best. Anyone interested in meeting to show us around or a meal? Sincere regards, Dave Cole |

Would you be leaving from whereever you end up or do you have to return to the UK to fly home? That would affect the recommendation on how far away I would venture and still have time to see stuff.
If you've never been there - Paris is nice. Don't miss the Palace of Versailles - really gives you a look at how the French 'royalty' lived before their revolution. A night cruise on the river Seine is cool too. 4 days there would give you ample time to checkout the highlights. I don't know if I'd want only 4 days in Italy, there is so much to see. Pompeii is a must, as is Rome. Even if you're not Catholic (or even religious) - the Vatican has absolutely magnificient art and architecture. Make sure you have long pants - no shorts allowed, even in the summer (at the Vatican, not Rome in general ). Florence and Venice were also very cool, but we didn't have a whole lot of time there.Didn't do too much in Germany, but we did see Heidelberg Castle - that was cool. Check out Halogrinder's thread(s) on his trip. I wanted to go to Neuschwanstein Castle, but we just didn't have the time. You may want to cross-post in GCC for more responses - it doesn't look like there is a whole lot of activity in this sub-forum. |

Dave,
Lots of great stuff to do in London ![]() Maybe you can take the Eurostar to Paris for dinner and some site seeing, see attached pic. Fare is around $625 USD for 2 persons. Click here for tickets You could head to Scandinavia, but flights right now are a bit high from London. Pero ya sabes aca tienen su pobre casa en Oslo y Arendal, Norway. Wish I could go to the event Congrats on that new expansion! But like I said there is lots to do in London, 2-4 days there would go by quick! Have fun! Felicidades! Saludos Ponce
