wife is dead set on getting a 98 rodeo v6 4wd , it runs great- no knocking or pining idles nice a quite. fresh paint , int is great it's on a lot not a private seller. i know nothing about them. guys care to enlighten me while im doing my search on them ? i dont wanna be spoon fed on how to sas them or change the r&p im a yota guy so none of it's new to me.

if the rodeo is simular to the trooper in terms of gearing, tranny, suspension and parts then i'll stick to the trooper info.

engines and transmissions are more or less identical between Rodeo and Trooper of the same model year.
Rodeo rear end is a Dana 44. Trooper is an Isuzu corporate 12 bolt (which should not be confused with the GM 12 bolt) Gearing is basically the same. Later model Rodeos (98+ I think) have a modified D44 where earlier ones are off the shelf D44 that will take any locker and R&P set you can find.
Troopers are coil sprung. Later rodeos are coil sprung, earlier ones have leaf springs.

transmissions are the same.
t-cases are the same.
