A buddy of mine resently got some pulls on a chasis dyno and didnt use em all so we dynoed my 2trucks...
well my ford is making obnocious power(posted it in the ford forum) but the real suprise whas the 1.8L in my luv, ist makinf 125hp@4500rpm and 150lbs ft @3000rpm. Its a huge improvemtn over the 85hp and 95lbs ft stock.

Sorry if you have covered this already, but what all have you done to beef up the 1.8? On my 2.6, I had it bored 1mm, decked 10 thous, aftermarket head ported and polished, Delta cam, free flowing intake and exhaust.
I doubt it made a huge difference in the numbers, but I can tell an improvement over stock. Wish I had dynoed it before having the work done so I could make some sort of comparison. The stock numbers are supposed to be something like 120/145. I would believe the torque, but I think they were being a bit generous on the hp. ![]() ________ CHILDREN PAXIL Last edited by Indyguy; 04-26-2011 at 07:29 PM. |

well first off i pulled off the little air pump thingy (emmisions suck) i have it bored .060, aluminum intake, header whith 2" straight pipe, 380cfm webber, ported and pollished head, EMPI race air filter, and a realy old RV cam. My dad has had the truck for all 23 years of its life and bought the rv cam in the mid 80s and has since lost the paperwork so i dont know what the lift and duration and such is.
I only wish i could mill down the head to bump up compresion but 1.8Ls dont like that, they start eating head gaskets then
