Lifting 2nd Gen Rodeo (98-03)
I have been doing some research regarding the famous "CP" Rodeo/Amigo lift, but everything I have found is a couple years old. I wanted to get the current status on stuff with y'all.
All questions are based on an assumption of about 4" of lift by adding taller coils in the rear and cranking the front bars. I understand the front IFS on 2nd gen Rodeos is substantially different than earlier models, which allows this much adjustment without the side effects. (But still needs an alignment after cranking). 1) Have you guys had good luck with Valley Spring for the rear coils? I see OME has coils but they are more like 2.5-3". Should I go OME and get a 1 to 2" poly coil spacer to get the additional height, or just stick with custom make coils from Valley? Or some other spring mfg? 2) Rear.....I assume I will need longer shocks. What about lengthening brake lines? Track bar lengthen/repositioning? Adjusting pinion angle? 3) Any driveline vibes with 4" of lift in rear? 4) If I need a little more tire room and decide to do a body lift I would consider making my own spacers and going about 1.5". With this amount of height, would I need to deal with auto tranny linkage issues? Steering column issues? Tcase shifter? Any others? Obviously l need to deal with the radiator/shroud, and adjust bumpers. 5) Did I leave anything out? Thanks, EZ
