1994 Reverse Sensor Problem??? - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

I have a 1994 Trooper LS and the reverse lights go on when its in 3rd and 4th, but not when its in reverse...any ideas of whats wrong?

i have had this problem in my 2 luvs. I think its the switch inside the tranny. Im thinking it rattles loose and will contact when in 4th but not in revers, never had it happen in 3rd (to my knowledge anyway, the shriff that pulled me over about it in my 80 only said 4th gear by his guess). I didnt have the time to fix it so i just pulled the bulbs from the revers lamp and i havent worried about it since
