94' Isuzu trooper...need info

Well i got this trooper for free its a 94 with 215k on it 4x4 manual v6. I have no idea about anything on this vehicle. I usually stick to my chevy. I read every thread in this section so far and found some info but not everything. If you guys wouldnt mind pointing me in the right direction with info and links. I was planning on a 3 inch body lift and 33s to start then over time going to a sas with a dana 44 and 35s maybe 37s and usuing it as a trial rig/parts hauler. Im going to be doing a sas on my truck and dont immediately have money for this project but any maintenance info would help as well as info about the diffs, xfer case etc. Even links would be great. Thanks.

JMHO, but the only body lift kits available are 3", and that's just too much BL. I would either make up your own 1-1.5" BL, or just trim to fit the 33's...... it won't take much.

Front axle is the Isuzu 10bolt shared by almost every Isuzu 4x4 made. Locker available are lockright (discontinued) and ARB.

Rear axle is the Isuzu 12bolt. This axle is as strong (stronger?) than a D44, but with less aftermarket. Lockers available are ARB or Lincoln

Tranny is the MUA-5 with integrated transfer case. Stock low-range is 2.24, with 3.07's available from Tera Mfg.

Any aftermarket stuff you want for your truck can be found at www.independent4x.com The owner (Matt Brown) goes by TrooperRS on this forum. He is a great guy to buy through, so give his site a look.

Got the truck for free huh

Thanks for the info i appreciate it. Ill try to post pics as i make progress but being twenty i dont make enough to get it off the ground real quickly....But i have a saw-zall so that will prob happen this weekend. Any suggestions on rim width? Im going with a black crawler for sure just not sure if i should go 8 wide or 10.

I'm assuming the 33's you'll be getting are 33x12.50? In that case, definitely 15x8. If the tires are going to be 14.50 or wider, then 15x10's.............. but 15x8 for anything else.

BTW, I am only 22 myself...... and a full-time undergrad student...... and part-time grad student......... I understand the money thing

I have 33 x 12.5 x 15x8
Here is what they look like with a 3" body lift and 2.5" suspension lift.

Dude... the front tires look like they are about to come off! What is the deal?

I am a bit concerned because I am looking at a 95/96 trooper to do what you did to, but don't want to have a problem like that...

Is it just my imagination???

What exactly do you mean by the that? 12.50 tires on 8" rims are going to bulge out more on the sides than the same tires on a wider rim...... no big deal.

Or are you talking about the way the tires visibly tilt in toward the truck at the top (in the last pic)? Just get an alignment after you do the lift. IIRC, even later Troopers have recirculating ball steering. So if you do a 3" lift, do the ball joint flip and spacer as well to help with the alignment issues.
