stupid 2.6 oil pressure gauge issues(aftermarket)

ok i was going to "T" in an aftermarket manual oil pressure guage this weekend as i dont trust "idiot" lights at all.
ummmm dumb import noob question: are the oil pressure sending unit threads metric or some shit??
The oil pressure sending unit will thread into a 1/8npt "T" but 1/8npt will NOT thread into the block. WTF?

basicly what do i need to adapt a guage in or is there another oil gally i can access to use?

Thanks,
Doc

Yes, the holes are metric. Just go to the parts store and tell them you want an Autometer metric fitting adapter set. These have metric thread for the block side and standard thread for the sensor/tubing. It'll probably run you around $20 for the kit, but it's better than drilling/tapping the block.
