96 3.2 Rodeo Problems
Hey guys this is my first post here, and I'm happy to finally find an Isuzu Forum. My Rodeo breaks up and stutters a little between 1500-2500RPM. It sounds and feels like its mis firing. I changed the plugs, and for some reason was given autolites which made it ten times worse, I then changed over quickly to Bosch Platinums and most of it went away but now its still happening. Should I only be using NGK's on it or something, I've never had a car get so upset over plugs, if thats the problem. Also, my altenator will only put out 12v's of power on my guage and my belts squeek like hell, but when my car warms up it goes back to 14v's and the belts stop squeeking. Is my voltage regulator going or something? Thanks for the help in advance.

I do, and always will, use NGK's in my Amigo. Totally different engine though, so its not all that relevant. If your belts squeak really lound and the alt. isn't making full power, you may just have a belt slipping. I would tightened up the belts (or replace them if they are old or worn) and see if that does anything for you. Its always best to start with the easiest stuff and go from there.

Its a serpentine belt, and I don't think its slipping. If I rev the engine to 3000RPM for about 5-10seconds it charges right back up and holds it once the engine is warm. Sometime's while driving, if I come to a stop sign at night with lights on, blinker on, stereo and heat, it will go back down and once I start driving it will come back up adn stay fine throughout any stops, etc. I don't know what the hell is going on.
