1998+ Trooper dedication thread.
Hey guys, I know I'm new on here but I've been reading up in this section trying to learn as much as I can before I go head first into purchasing my first Trooper.
Now, I know there are a lot of people with the 80's-1997 Troopers, but I rarely see anybody with the 1998-2002 Trooper. Is there a reason for that? I know locally they can be had for 5-8k, they look great and I've read on edmunds that they have a fairly good review. Any ideas why is that? Also, I've looked through the 'post your trooper' thread, but wondering if any of you guys have a 98+ trooper or have some cool pics of them, mind posting them? I'd like to see how they can be modified and how they look. These are the only 3 pics I found of it: ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you all

I have a 99 that I just bought in September, it's stock but wheels pretty good. I paid $5,000 and have been happy with it so far.

I used to have a 99 Trooper that I wheeled at Moab. Had OME 912 coil lift, sliders, and 265/75 tires...other than that it was pretty stock.

Bump for some more 98+ Troopers. I'm looking at buying one and making it a moderately capable DD.
What model had the flares like one in the first pic in this thread. Is that like a turbo deisel Euro thing or are the huge tires sticking out a foot past the flares throwing me off? The third pic appears to have these flares as well, and maybe even the second one but it's hard to tell from the angle. |

All the Troopers in the first post are from Iceland and are pretty heavily modified.

Holy shit, that is like exaclty what I want!!? I want to find an all black one, do the usual, 33's or 35's.. but with mag wheels not black steelies... but all blacked out like yours etc.
I'm really glad you found this thread buddy. Would you mind giving me a mod list? And maybe your general opinion of the vehicle, dislike likes... things for me to look out for when buying. Thanks in advance! |

they are Hella Rallye 4000 i think you can get them for about 125 or so each. i got them when i worked at shrockworks a few years back. they are great lights. I replaced the bulbs when i first got them, and don't quote me if im wrong, but i believe that they came with a 100 watt bulb and the replacement was a 135 or 145 watt. they come in 4 different light spreads....there is alot of info out there on them and it would be best to look it up its been a long time since i researched them.

I have a '99 Trooper with 32x11.5 on old 15" suburban wheels that I cut out the centers to fit the hubs. Shrockworks rock sliders, brembo slotted rotors, skyjacker extended SS lines, BJ flip and spacer, powder coated valve covers. 3" T-bar crank and coil spreader things to give me 3" in rear too. Also put a big system in it, 12 speakers, 1200 watts RMS.

Aussie Trooper (Jackaroo)
The Trooper is, or was, sold as a Holden Jackaroo is Australia. A photo of mine, which I love, will have to follow as I keep getting a server error when I try and upload one.
