Makes perfect sense to me. They where ugly as sin.

Plus, he didnt state what kind of uptravel he was getting before contact. For all we know it could have been 1".

Shoulda moved your cut up at least another inch for those sliders, but looks good. I just left the tiniest bit of lower rocker, where that plastic screwed into. I'll put pics up if I ever get em uploaded. You used the exact same material I did though, I love it...ended up working really well for keeping mud/water out when my doors are off, and can easily be stood on by numerous people who are trying to watch an event(bmr-Disney OK)

I didn't want to cut my half doors or my full doors anymore to make this fit so that's why I cut them where I did. Yea, 1/4" 2x8 rectangular tubing is gonna work sweet on these I'm sure. I would like to see your pics, so when you get a chance please send me a PM to them.

Yeah, sure. That makes sense on the bottoms of doors, cuz I did have to cut off about 1.5'' of door...no biggy for me though, already cut holes in them for exo to tie into my internal cage. only purpose they serve anymore is just keeping the weather out when the doors are actually on. I like to keep them off most of the summer. I'll put those pictures up too, most are on my phone.

Got the idea from ONEtonXJ, on his thread "Tater2 buildup". My pictures to come shortly.

Here's my cut

another

before paint

after

and here's what I meant about cutting out for the cage

oh, and i used 2"x6"x 3/16"wall, dug enough out of the points where it made contact so that I had 3" sticking out from the remaining rocker. Love it, one of my best mods yet, second to removable doors.

Did you drill and tap your own box, following the TOTM thread? I'm leaning toward a similar mod, cuz I don't think I'll ever be able to scrape up the dough for full hydro...

Thanks

Yes - I followed those same instructions. Works great. Just time consuming and take notes and pictures as you disassemble makes it a lot easier to reassemble.

Ah, it requires disassembly huh? Good thing I have a spare box now, just put durango box in last week, took stock apart...You're right, lots of stuff goin on in there, esp the ball bearings in the worm gear I was leaning toward assist with tapped box, but then i remembered i already have high steer arms on my built 60, so might just wait it out til i can afford full hyd.

Anyway, thanks... back to your build thread.

Lets see - I still need to get pictures of my boatsides that are completed, however I just received some things I figured I would post up tonight.

Welded...

Primed...

Oh yea and don't forget the 42x15x15 PitBull Tires

And yes this side has not been completed yet as far as the boatsides, frame re-enforcement and new rear fender chop.

Those are still sliders, not boatsides... Still kind of confused on the rear quarter cut, but to
each his own.

Actually maybe you should search, "Boatsides" and tell me again these are not boatsides. These are not sliders! Sorry you don't have a picture yet of the underside of them...

The rear quarter cut turned out exactly how I wanted it. Right now at full tuck I have 2 inches from hitting the top of my rear fenders I still need to integrate some bump stops and I'm looking at lowering the jeep some.

Done some more work finally. Decided to start building my bumpers before the exo-cage gets fabricated. I will get some better photos of the jeep rear bumper installed. Sorry these were taken off my phone.

Some 2" x 6" .250 Rectangular Tubing

Better pictures to come... And finished pics with lights, etc.

I'd just cut the rest of the body off and make a buggy. That rear half of the unibody isn't doing much except flexing.

Those tires look huge.

Cool rock rails and wheel wells and bolt on lift and Tons but yeah not boatsides. Boatsides have a nice angle to then going from frame at an angle up to the doors usually way into the doors negating the use of doors. Overall cool trail rig should be fun once you get that cage done. Currently your body is flexin like crazy and your gonna crack allot of sheet metal. I wouldn't play anymore till your cage is done so it can stiffen your "frame" because even with your plating its not enough.
