Shoulda moved your cut up at least another inch for those sliders, but looks good. I just left the tiniest bit of lower rocker, where that plastic screwed into. I'll put pics up if I ever get em uploaded. You used the exact same material I did though, I love it...ended up working really well for keeping mud/water out when my doors are off, and can easily be stood on by numerous people who are trying to watch an event(bmr-Disney OK)

Yeah, sure. That makes sense on the bottoms of doors, cuz I did have to cut off about 1.5'' of door...no biggy for me though, already cut holes in them for exo to tie into my internal cage. only purpose they serve anymore is just keeping the weather out when the doors are actually on. I like to keep them off most of the summer. I'll put those pictures up too, most are on my phone.
Got the idea from ONEtonXJ, on his thread "Tater2 buildup". My pictures to come shortly. Last edited by adamusmc2002; 03-26-2012 at 09:08 PM. |

Here's my cut
![]() another ![]() before paint ![]() after ![]() and here's what I meant about cutting out for the cage ![]() oh, and i used 2"x6"x 3/16"wall, dug enough out of the points where it made contact so that I had 3" sticking out from the remaining rocker. Love it, one of my best mods yet, second to removable doors. Last edited by adamusmc2002; 03-26-2012 at 09:12 PM. |

Yes - I followed those same instructions. Works great. Just time consuming and take notes and pictures as you disassemble makes it a lot easier to reassemble.

The rear quarter cut turned out exactly how I wanted it. Right now at full tuck I have 2 inches from hitting the top of my rear fenders I still need to integrate some bump stops and I'm looking at lowering the jeep some. |

I'd just cut the rest of the body off and make a buggy. That rear half of the unibody isn't doing much except flexing.
Those tires look huge.

Cool rock rails and wheel wells and bolt on lift and Tons but yeah not boatsides. Boatsides have a nice angle to then going from frame at an angle up to the doors usually way into the doors negating the use of doors. Overall cool trail rig should be fun once you get that cage done. Currently your body is flexin like crazy and your gonna crack allot of sheet metal. I wouldn't play anymore till your cage is done so it can stiffen your "frame" because even with your plating its not enough.
