Yes they are, 14" travel is a bit to long with how low it is without shock hoops but I didint want to get into more work making room for hoops, that will come when I chop the inner fenders out and dove it with coilovers

So whats going on with this thing. I love this build. The rear frame is where mine will head at some point.
Id like to see an update if anything has been done. Not very many bad ass Ct rigs! Oh and any more info on your tank setup using the factory pickup?

thanks man, i am at a point where its stupid stuff like driveshafts, plumb breaks, hydro assist, install traction bar finish weld perches now that the tcase is installed, build shifters, etc.
Problem is im seriously considering ditching the drivetrain in favor of a 5.3/sm465/i think my dana 300 with the 32 spline output should hold up. i can sell the 4.0/ax15 swap and front half of the doubler to help fund the v8 swap. Untill i figure out where im going with this project i dont want to waste any time finishing the details, however i am very close to running it as is, i could probably have this thing running with a month of steady work, and that may just be the route i go. I am deff up to suggestions tho. as far as the stock pump in the cell, i made my own ring from the old tank, and cut the tubes on the sending unit and made the unit drop strait down (stock they come out the front of the tank) ![]()

Well I don't know how you plan to use this thing but ill give you my .02$
When I thought making engine mods, or swapping it out I always came back to the same conclusion. For where and how I wheel, I will never need more power than the 4.0. I don't have to worry about cooling it if I keep it stock, and its incredibly reliable. For me there's just no way to justify it. That's probably the only thing that will never get touched.

I would enjoy it as a 4l first and workout your suspenion bugs and then swap a 5.3 in, it's not all that bad from what I've read and seen. However with the way you have yours setup it should be good as long as you regeared your axles.

not sure what you mean? this aint a street rig...
as far as hydo assist im using a yj box with surplus center ram and a big cooler with its own fan, i will see if a stock pump will work, possibly try and mount the pump lower on the motor and i have a big external reservoir not sure if an accessory setup is different off a tj or zj, have not looked into it at all

That's tough when its sitting there looking at you. But unless your gonna race it and require going fast, just seems the 4.0 should be plenty, and no extra work! Lol. Especially with a doubler.

i havent had it out yet, i know timmy ran them in comps for years with good success, that was a good enough excuse for me to try them, they keep the rig real stable
