We snapped a dana 60 in two in the first TREC race of the year.

A fellow racer broke at least one dana 30 in two before he started putting a lot of bracing on them.

We bent a rear dana 44 in the Wagoneer that we didn't truss. The front held up fine with a simple truss. We were lazy and didn't truss it, eventually it bent enough to cause the wheel bearings to have too much side load and burn them off.

Yup, im a firm believer in every axle being trussed now. I've got my front and rear 44's trussed end to end. And for the sterling going in, I'm planning on the artec industries truss, that thing is ridiculous.

Well.... this MIGHT have had something to do with it, it broke shortly after landing. However, I drive the same now, and both are trussed with zero issues.

I'm racing on sat and lets just say the motor and the cage is out. Wont have time to truss the axles for this race but im not too worried. They will be trussed for the next race after seeing some carnage pics.

Didn't get any pics today but the new...er motor is in. Bunch of little stuff done too. Couple pics from yesterday.

Stole the 360 out of the commando since it has been sitting in a corner for years.

Looks good.

Thought of another thing when I saw the steel non-beadlock wheels: rim stiffeners. At some point you will clip a tree or rock at speed and bend the rim enough to get a flat. We used rolled 3/8" round bar welded to the wheels and it helped a bunch.

Yea I've bent plenty of wheels, enough that the tubes stuck out and still ran it like that. Beadlocks in the future

Didn't get to race it but its finally ready. The body work and paint will have to wait another year.

Does anybody have any tips on tuning these fox shocks? Whats a good nitro pressure to start with? I bought them used so I'm not sure what was done to them.
