88 Xj
I currently have a 75 SJ Cherokee, but want something smaller to wheel with. I've found an 88 XJ with a 4.0, NP231, D44, and auto. The Jeep is pretty rusty, and I haven't heard it run. Currently has 140k on the clock..they are looking to get $1,100 is that close to the going price?

tryin to help
Well it all depends were the rust is. If its in the floor or fire wall, i wouldnt buy it. If its just the wheel wells and part of the body, u could always cut those out and put new metal in. Oh and on the price, that isnt to bad for that year. Hope this helps..... Jesse smokin

well with being so private, and not listing your location I can only say here in so cali that can be a rip off. non running or running with bad exterior and/or interior are going for under 1000 and at times 400-500$.
the 1990 and earlier are non-ho (renix) and less power, smaller output shaft on the tranny and input on TC. Go newer if poss. |

Sorry, I updated my profile.... I live in Iowa. Looks like the Jeep was originally sold in MN, so rustbelt for sure. The rust is mainly on the doors, and quarter panels, but I'll take a closer look at the firewall and floors. I was thinking it's not worth over $500 to me, but wasn't sure. Guess it depends how it runs. Anything else I need to b concerned about? I know it has the disconnect D30, so that's another strike.

Just paid 350.00 for a 87 w/ dana 44 rear 242 t/c. Runs well, needs some floor repair. I say that is too much. JMHO
