I have never done it with a 4.0L but have helped some friends with superchargers in a couple different cars. Besides piping and brakets you are going to need bigger injectors and maybe even a fuel pump. You might want to run a small intercooler in order to keep the incoming air cooler and more dence for more power, not to mention it is better for the motor.

I can see that you have a closed cooling system, you might want to convert it over to an open system. The closed systems have a hard enough time cooling a 190hp NA motor let alone a forced induction motor. They tend to plow up the overflow bottles too.

As for drive line im sure your tranny is going to take a beating and if you have a D35 you might want to think twice about really ripping on it off the line.

Last thing is going to be the computer. You might want to call a company that makes a programmer for the 4.0 and ask them if they have any suggestions on what you are going to need.

I just got through putting a turbo on a v6 3.8 camaro, if you run an FMU you probably won't need injectors (only because you wont be running high boost) , but you will need a bigger fuel pump. If you reprogram the computer instead of running an fmu you will have to upgrade to bigger injectors and fuel pump. Reprogramming the computer will alow you to run higher boost and the motor will be a lot more efficient than an FMU.

ive done the set up.
run the m90 stock pulley.
mustang 5.0 injectors work out pretty well.
u don't really need a front mount intercooler but is good to have one. and it looks cool in the front.

u are going to need a blow off valve or by pass valve. ebay stuff will work.
u can get cheap piping off ebay to.

do the fab work. run it.

Here's an unfinished build that might give some ideas for future reference as well http://www.rockhardxj.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3129
Lots of pics.

I just picked up one of these superchargers. I will be updating my thread with how I put everything together.

I've got one too and I can't wait to install it, but I know I should really have a rolling chassis before I bother with putting a blower in. If you're curious about my build, go here. Back to tech...

I found that having it upside down over the AC bracket and the output going to a FMIC should work well. That lets you keep the body of the M90 close to the valve cover and use the factory belt routing with sufficient wrap angle. I have my alternator in its factory location for my 98 and there's room between it and the fan-less fan pulley to sneak substantially sized intercooler tubing by the belt and to the FMIC with an electric fan. Here is the world's worst cell phone picture that hopefully can shed some light on what I just feebly attempted to describe.

When I actually make the bracket, the top of the SC will be flush with the top of the valve cover. I just couldn't hold the SC there and take the pic by myself.

The spark plug wires in cyl 1-3 are still serviceable in this location. There is also clearance for the distributor and the spark plug wires that go to it. This also puts the inlet of the SC on the top and should be easier to work with for plumbing the intake. I planned on putting a cone filter under the cowl.

The one downside that I have come up with is that you pretty much get tied into running a rear radiator.

Open to comments and criticism.
