89 XJ changes
I have an 89 chero, it has HP44, and 9", with 37" pitbulls, molly's all the way around.
I have been doing work slowly as needed on the jeep, just had rockrails, and a stinger built for the jeep. I just picked up a mig welder and a stick welder. I would like to start building parts for the jeep, first order of business is to build the anti-wrap bar, had the parts for about 3 mos now. Planning on using 1" OD DOM and sleeve that, should hold up...., I am planning on gusseting the crap out of it, and gonna use 7/8" heims, I am planning on building a rear cross member right after the tcase, using 1x3" rectangle. Than build a skid from the tranny cross member to the Tc cross member I noticed the glass in the hatch isn't holding in very well anymore, and the rear side glass is flexing. so I might remove the rear. I have an 8pt cage right now, so not sure what other bracing is gonna be needed, if any. Can't wait to start hacking. Last edited by shadowgamesxj; 05-15-2007 at 11:38 AM. |

Um...use your membership and actually search...?
This has been beat to death in the past, many times. (hint: unibody strengthening, unibody reinforcement, etc)

Whoa, vetteboy. just talking, I have searched, I read and studied your build up, with the LP60/14bolt, I read up on naxja about hacking the back, my unibody is plated from the front control arms, all the way to the back, I have several gigs of pictures and info, saved, I was just talking about doing more work. Moving on with the rig.

I wish those tires weren't so fukking wide. I'm not too fond of the color but whatever floats your boat. You have nice parts and at least seem to know wtf you are doing.

oh the color is gone, I was messing around with some color, I hated the grabber green, so now it is primer. Yes they are some wide a$$ tires, and on a 15x10 rim, seems to make them wider. not sure that a narrower rim would make a difference.
