OK this is a dumb question so feel free to flame away,.. but what are symptoms of a bad brake booster? I am seriously wondering if thats my brake issue problem,..

hard pedal
pedal goes hard instant motor is turned off
hissing noise heard from the brake booster when you shut the motor off.

What's wrong with your brakes?
