Swapping from 2000+ to a 1991

I am new to this forum, and did a search with no results. So sorry if this has been answered a thousand times.

I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee and am wondering if its possible to swap parts from a 2000+.

I basically want to make my 91 look like a 2000+ model.

Will the rear deck lid bolt on? Taillights? Front clip? How about body trim stuff like fender flares and body moldings / bumpers?

Is all this a bolt on swap?

My guess is that its an easy swap, but thats why I'm asking here.

Oh, and what about the dash?

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK the front clip and interior, at least the dash should swap, but keep in mind that 2000+ is OBDII with distributorless ignition and a '91 is OBDI with a distributor.
I heard somewhere that the rear tailights might bolt up different, but I'm not sure. I have no idea about the rear hatch (deck lid?).

The front clip is a direct bolt on, but you will have to also replace both fenders unless you grind down the edges of the header panel. You will also need the flares, and the bumper covers. The entire rear hatch will have to be replaced, because the shape is completely different. You will have to figure out a way to mount the hatch, because the rear hinge system is hidden on 97+. You will have to make custom rear light brackets, and replace the rear bumper, covers and side flares. You also forgot to mention replacing the door panels on the interior, center console, new shifter with bent angle, new gauges, new AC controls, rear speaker mounts will have to be moved from the hatch. I dont even know where to begin on the engine... Basically, its a major pain in the ass and will cost alot more than its worth.....

Also.....you need to make shitty posts like this in the NEWBIE section.

Thanks

Thanks for the answers.

But I have NO need to convert the whole damn car. Just want it to LOOK like a 2000 from the OUTSIDE only.

Im only talking rear hatch, front clip, and body mouldings. Thats it. The dash was an afterthought and not needed.

Thanks again. I'll take a closer look. And I didnt know of a newbie section. Thats how much of a newbie I am to this website....
