What would cause this? (front locker ?)

I had my Aussie locker installed by a good shop and it works as it should. I have noticed though that when turning very tight to the left the thing goes from its slight clicking to a more violent popping (front end moves up and down somewhat). Its still nothing horrible like breaking parts type sound, but I definately notice it. I have just been avoiding tight turns to the left and all is well

You might get some more response in the newbie forum. As for the locker they are not the best to begin with. It has to do with the spring rates in the locker it self. If they are to soft it will not hold in locked position and if to stiff it will want to click harder and lock more often. Many mags. have said they are not a locker you want to have in your rig for an extended peroid of time because of their bad road manors and weak design.

But next time go to the newbie forum because of this being the hardcore cherokee forum.

Haha you get the fvck out N00B.

I asked a question that has not/could not be answered on NAXJA. The next step is obviously here. WTF you telling me to go to the newb section when you're spittin out JP mag quotes like its gospel. JP knows jack squat, Aussie lockers are proven to be a great cheap locker. "not a real locker" hahaha You're sooo hardcore Do you always try to flame someone and then back up your lacking response with some bs out of a magazine?

If you can't install an aussie locker yourself, or diagnose its noises, you belong in the newb section.

and its not XJ specific, its probably barely Dana 30 specific, which at most is "Jeep - Non-Hardcore"
And JP is a great magazine, for jeep specific stuff, so

Hi, I had cancer and yeah this was done for me while I was sick in the hospital so off. I had just bought the parts before I found out and my folks got the locker and gears installed for me. I am just curious to this one issue it seems some have, but there is never an answer....just like here.

another harmless post ruined by the 'hardcore know-it-alls' trying to show everyone how hardcore they are. it seems like every other post has turned to that.

Wasn't trying to be a dick. I am just trying to help a bit. I have not had a aussie locker but have had the richmand gear and detroit that is designed just like your aussie. the richmand has been perfect so far but the detroit has been hell from the beginning. It isnt doing exactly what yours is doing but it is kinda close. around the corners it will click like normal but then some times it will really hammer down. The big problem is when you are driving down the road and all of a sudden it locks then unlocks. When it does this it will send you in the other lane which is kinda scary when you are on the highway. For our problem it was weak springs. Detroit wouldnt give us the time of day so we put the spiders back in since the teeth were trashed by the time we took it out. I would call their tech line and see if they have any suggestions.

Congrads on beating cancer. I work with Penn State and the Four Diamonds fund to raise money for Childhood cancer. Last year $5.2 million went to paying for medical bills for the kids and research to cure them. http://www.thon.org/ if you want to check our what we do for the kids.

I was just trying to point out that any aussie locker in a front(or rear), highpinion(or low pinioin) application probably work exactly the same. I don't have a locker up front in either of my rigs ('92 XJ & '86 MJ), so I couldn't help you, just pointing out where you might find more/better answers.

Congrats on the complete remission, I had a friend go through kemo, it's looks rough.

PS....THIS SHIT SHOULD HAVE GONE IN THE NEWBIE SECTION FAWKER!!!

How long ago was it installed?

The springs wear out over time, and should be replaced for proper function.

We would recommend you go to our web site a www.aussielocker.com, and under SERVICE click on Talk To An Engineer and then click on CONTACT. Fill out the form in detail and send it to us. We will get someone assigned to your question.

Thank you for your purchase of the Aussie Locker.

Sweet......... leave it to Pirate

Anywho I would recommend putting selectable (locking) hubs in any rig with a locker. Just my experience with lockers.

4years on this board and still only 18 posts...... I wonder why????

Nothing has come of this, it is what it is. Been on 4 good wheeling trips and no breaks or changes in its manners on or offroad so ohh well is my conclusion, lol.
