Doing a SAS need help knoing what this AXLE is.

OK so first off sorry no pics of the axle, the deal is I am looking for a dana 44 to do a SAS on my 89 trooper .

OK so i was up at my parents farm, and I found stitting in the bush a 44 front axle ( my dad used to own a few wagoneers )

But we both cannot figure what year its was from, we think its a 86 not sure.

But since its a pass side drop it has to be 79 or older right.

So I took the numbers off in hopes that you guys can help me figure this out.

So the numbers that are stamped on the axle are 0-86970

Then the numbers on the tag thats on the diff cover are 53-521-00 top
43-14-307 bottom.

And yes I have already posted this on the isuzu page.

Just thout you guys would klnwo more about the full size jeeps wagoneers .

I hope one of you guys know what that all means ..
Thanks.

I have no clue on reading those numbers, other than looks to be a 3.07 ratio. But on the other hand, what does it matter what year it came from? If it is the side drop you need, the width you want to go with, run with it.

If its from a grand waggy it has to be older then 80, my 86 grand waggy D44 had driveflanges, so im sure the older 79-down could too.

73-79 pass drop, came in wide track and standard.79-89 drivers drop also came in wide track and standard.

If it's the drop you need and the correct width run it.

78/79 have Drivers side drop, I know cause I have one in my XJ. Sounds like You have a Chevy axle out of a Blazer...

Look here this might help you: http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/demenu.aspx?prod=AXL

So, why do you need to know what it's out of? Most D44 parts are interchangeable, so if the pumpkin is on the side you need, and the width is OK, just build it.
