Grand front axle info needed!!!
Just toasted the front diff on the wife's '99 Grand cherokee. Basic Dana 30 with 3:73 gears.
When looking for a replacement D30, what axles will go under there? Do I have to find one out of another WJ, or will a ZJ, XJ, TJ D30 bolt in under there? The outers are good, so theoretically all I need is a center section (inner C to inner C) with 3:73 gears and what not - I'm pretty sure the axleshafts are OK. Thanks for your help

If you can find a Rubicon Dana 44 I'm pretty sure it's a bolt in replacement. As long as your's is not IFS (not real sure when they started that). 97-06 wrangler, XJ Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, yadi, yadi you get the drift.

99 grands and up are WJs they have a different lug pattern and there control arm mounts are different, for a direct bolt in you will need another 30 out of a WJ

Bolt pattern is not a big deal if I can bolt my outers on it. What I'm worried about is the control arm mounts and coil buckets like what XJeep633 said.
Thanks for the info, anybody got a 30 out of a '99 - '04 WJ??

True, and the 99-04 housing is wider.
