With my upgrade I'm doing on my Xj currently, I'm installing a rear diff from a Nissan GQ Patrol (diff similar to 9") and going to be using 5.5" RE leaves with extended Terraflex shackles. Now the theory is I will be running 37" - 38" rubber and throwin around the idea of making a custom Anti-wrap bar.
Has anyone done this? I am wondering if it would be possible to run it on one single side off the top of the diff only, ie single bar now a y-link. Thought??

i have seen a lot of people runa traction bar(wrap bar) either right next to the leafs or dead center on the diff. i ran my old wrap bar just to the right of the diff and used 2 poly bushing for mountting. then a old johnny joint up at a sub frame bracket i made. so no pics.
check out nth degree i beleave they have a pretty heavy duty set up.

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...t=traction+bar A couple of ideas from the NAXJA crew. If you search and spend a couple hours reading, you will learn more than you really wanted to know about rear traction.

Got into some reading last night, think considering I am doing diff swap that I will run bigger mounts on the axle tubes for the leaves to mount to and see how that goes first.
From what I have worked out with the wrap bars, unless you do a ladder bar/y llink setup your wasting ya time and if anything actually causeing more problems.

A typical ladder bar with a shackle is one option, and its proven to work well. I chose to do the slip and twist version and it works quite well also. It eliminated my axle wrap and it does great as a driveshaft slider. I cut a spiral groove in the inside tube and put a grease zerk on the outside one for "binding issues". Doesn't bind at all from what i can tell and seems pretty smooth. I used bushings at all points and something in the neighborhood of .25" wall tube...
