Something that is "anti-kick back" Im not following all of your pictures.
At full drop you want the shackle so it can not kick back any further to prevent dammage. The shorter the shackle (without binding drop) the better. Id go with factory length shackles from what ever springs you intend to use.

I think this question needs a little clarification. You're talking for front leafs? With a front shackle? Or what?
Anyways, option 2 is a death trap. Might ramp really well, but that's about it. If you're a ramp queen, then sweet. Option 1 is a boomerange shackle, I guess. But you've got it so it will jam against the frame before bending the leaf back. Well, might be a good idea. Personally I don't bend my front leafs, but if I am to it won't be at full droop. Compression and wailing into hard things seems to be the way to do it. Hell. I'd just use a normal shackle. That's what I did. But I wasn't aware there was 'other' options when I did my conversion. Better yet, don't run front leafs. And don't run rear ones either. That'd be the smartest way. |
