Whats up guys. I wanna do a doubler but my current transfercase is the (from what i hear) dreaded 242. I scored a cheap 231 and I wanna do the 231 box 4 rocks kit ala: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=577021&highlight=231+doubler . From what i understand the two t-cases are pretty closely related where the doubler matters. Would i be able to use the 242 with this kit or should i just go find another 231? Thanks

A stock 242J is rated at 1486 # torque capacity.

By the way a Durango/Dakota 242HD case also use a 32 spline outputs and is rated at 2028 # torque capacity.

The 32 spline output is the same size as the one used on a NP241.

The 242HD AMG is rated at 2340# torque capacity. It doesnt have a 2wd position.
