I'll get to pimpn the truck later. I gotta finsih the rig and source a trailer before I do anything crazy.
When I do tho, Ill be changing: --Lights to 05-07 --White grill --Tint windows --Snag some Excursion seats from the JY (Bench seat isnt bad, but its angled in a way that my back doesnt appreciate and is not adjustable.) --Mirrors --Minor interior upgrades -- build some bumpers Back to GreatWhite....she's gettng there. Front end is pretty much completly appart. Fenders and hood are off. (Well, hood is laying in place to keep out weather.) Front axle was pulled last night to double check everything and prep for final paint. Should have the axle 100% assembled and installd by the end of the day. It will look moreless the same as it has in recent pics. Color choices are staying the same. Just a little more blingy this time around.

Ohhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............. is it done????
Nope. ![]() School me on rear limit straps. Im fried on reading it all. Read Camos thread and several others but sill dont understand whats best FOR ME. Most of what I read pertained to coilover or airshock setups. And again mostly all talk on mounting them eye to eye vs other locations and generally related to higher speed. The 2 main points Ive gathered and that are beating me retardo are : Single, centered strap, helps with rig with lots of drop and paticularly driveline binding. Double, strap each side, is better for controlling articulation. As fas as Im concerned I have lots of both. So what do I want/need? Go. For those wondering heres the "TO DO" list. -Front and rear limit straps -Front driveshaft -Reinstal steering and bleed -Run brake lines -Properly run fuel lines -Finish shifters -Fill fluids -Finish exaust -Lots of dumb little stuff -GO WHEELING! Parts to get still: PSC pulley Brake Prop Valve-----DEFINATLY OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS Battery Front DriveShaft Limit Straps Fluids Bolts SOOOOOOO CLOSE..... Cept I need a trailer still

Do individual straps on each corner, and have them hit 1-1.5" before you're shocks limit, because they are bound to stretch a bit on sever dropout occasions. Thats how I did it and I'm loving it.
I feel center limit straps are a band aid for a binding drivetrain (as you said), but see no reason to use them if you're not binding. When you're going fast you want the entire axle capable of moving up and down as much as your shocks and springs allow it, no reason to limit your suspension travel.

whats wrong with 3 straps?? 1 for the drive shaft and 1 on each side for the shocks?? its not like you HAVE to only use either 1 or 2.... use 3....
i agree with pancake.... but if i know you right, you wont need to worry about sacrificing travel for jumps/speed oh and cables dont stretch jus sayin

And cables are common. Tons of guys run em. Same with chain. Both work fine. What size cable are you running? "Like them so far" means.....your wheelin? What size cable?

I'm running Ruffstuff straps, they are beef. I've got no real problem with chain or cable in a non go fast situation, I ran chains myself for a couple years without issue. I do personally enjoy the idea of the straps stretching though, it absorbs the energy softer over time via that stretch instead of having the axle dropping out and hitting max droop with a shock load like chains and cables would. I don't know if it's soft enough to feel a difference in the real world, though I just feel like the stretch makes it easier on things.

I used 1/4'' cable that has the rubber coating. Yep, wheeled it some. Trying to work out some bugs. Cooling, rear d-shaft vibs, and exhaust. Planning on taking it out again this weekend, so I'll get a better idea how the cables do. I did get the front air born 10-12" once and the cables seemed to handle the weight fine.
