Rear lower shock mount. I bent some tube for the top mounts but didn't have time to get them in today but I'll be back on it tomorrow

And also got a box from summit racing

Bumb stops
Heat barrier and tape
Exhaust wrap kit

Absolutely subbing to this.

When you were choosing the motor mounts, did Novak not have theirs available yet?

I need to start a build thread of my own but here is what theirs are like in case you haven't seen 'em.

Where I am now:

Thanks u should start a thread for sure

Looks good man.. Is ur rig up and running yet? If so how hot does she run with that radiator? Thoes motor mounts look beefy.. Should work well.

So today I pulled off the cage and supported it to fully weld it.. I got about 80% done before I had to call it a night

Next I'll be doing the bumps in the front and cutting the old rockers out and welding in the new ones

It is up and running yes. I have those 3 10" fans, 755cfm each which thermo controlled, they kick on at 190 and off again at 165 (according to my cheap ass Sunpro temp gauge) but there are no cooling issues. Attempted a clutch fan at first, it failed.

I noticed another difference between the motor mounts, other than how they look. The Novak mounts lift the motor a bit for more clearance for headers, I'm running Sanderson block huggers. I also didn't have to do any of the cutting you did. Only a little bit for the SM465's upper cone. I have been non stop focusing on the drivetrain, once it's 100% good I will upgrade the axles, actually in dire search for some right now, frame plating, cage etc etc.

Front bay shot:

Sorry for the thread hack, you're doing an awesome job man, I'm glad you decided not to sell!!

I have been trying the whole "keep spending to a minimum" thing but I'm up to $5k since new years... I will address everything I have been through in the build thread which I will do maybe tomorrow with the almost 400 pictures I have, almost every little detail

Old rockers cut out

New ones tacked in. By doing this I gained about 1.75" but will have to trim that off my doors

I may get the cage and the top painted before I put it back on.. I know I will have to touch it up when I paint the rest of the body... So what do u guys think?

Inside view of the rockers tacked In and I cut a hole In the rocker where it meets the B piler (I'm just holing a peace of tube in the hole to show where it will come up)

Also dropped the front shocks in and let it rest at full bump and it's thight like a tiger! Panhard bar is about 1/8" from the oil pan

Ok well I have been waiting to do my taxes before I spent anymore money on the jeep.... And I have some good news and bad... I only have to pay 20,500 this year not 30,000 like last year!! So as soon as I get that payed off I'll be getting....

Seats (still not sure from who or what kind..?)

springs for my coil overs

paint ( once I mock everything up and break it down to get sand blasted)

Other than that it's just a lot of little stuff.. I post updates as soon as I get more done

One of the better XJ build threads I've ever come across. Glad you didn't sell her and I'm glad to see that you're redoing the sliders.

I realize that I'm working on an MJ, but I'm pretty sure that the rocker area is similar enough for me to throw a question your way. How did you deal with the area below the door where the floor pan bends out to add strength to that area? Did you but the 2x6 up against it, or cut it out???? I'm not describing this well, so I'll post a few pics:

Here's my rocker cut out (still have to address the rot in the floor)

Here's the area I'm talking about (with part of the pan missing)

Can't wait for more updates.
