I got my ring and pinion install kits from randy's, along with an open front carrier, and I say he does very good business, but I may be going to gearman for the next regear that takes place, because of the valued service and such that he is said to bring.

I got my gears and a 44 detroit ($460) from Randy's Ring and Pinion and the 9 inch locker from that Drivetrain Warehouse ($360). The Drivetrain Warehouse offered a lifetime warranty and free shipping. If you call around they will match and beat each other and sometimes throw in free shipping.

If you are going to a shop to have the work done, order the parts from them if they aren't way out of line. I'd rather spend a few bucks locally than mail order. Besides, that way if it blows up, the installer has all the liability of repair.
If you are doing the install yourself, nevermind. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

But if you pay the shop to "regear" then they are responsible for any screwups from the gear supplier. Think about it from the installers perspective.
