2nd gas tank / anti theft idea
how would I add a small gas tank to a jeep? I've had a idea for this anti theft method for a long time now but never looked into how to do it. The plan would be to have a small tank that is filled by maybe an overflow of fuel when you fill up your normal tank. The tank would be small enough that the perp would go a few blocks and then have the jeep run out of gas on him.

I think Jacob's ignition has a feature like that. When armed, it will start and drive about 30 seconds, then die. Nothing like blocking traffic to attract attention...

Simply install an SM420 with a tempermental 2nd gear and leave the rig parked in 4-low, if the screaming engine bouncing off the rev-limiter in 1st doesn't detract them, grinding and jumping out of 2nd will, and stalling in 3rd will send them packing, hell, if you make your Jeep run and look like total shit on top of that, the perp might even leave you a few bucks on the seat.

I need to do something with my YJ soon. I got my ZJ stolen at school in November, got it back a week later it looked like someone took it to a demolition derby and let it rip. Anyways, it will be just about that time of year again to pull the YJ out, and I will be driving that to college now and then and I would like to keep it were I parked it this time. So has anyone weird a fuel pump cut off switch? Basically, what is the best way to do it?

There should be a relay for the fuel pump. Wire it to the switched side of the relay. That way there is no problem with current. Just hide the switch under the dash someplace you can feel or can not see. Some people use a magnetic switch. You swipe a magnet across part of your dash to trip the switch. Just don't lose the magnet =).

I want to know if there's some way to make a fuel pump switch, but have a code for it. Are there any electrical locks similar to those that are on bicycle locks, with the sliding nmbers? Or what about a combination of 3-5 switches under the dash that must be swithced on off in the right combination? Anyone understand what I'm getting at here? Why not just use an ignition master switch? Hide it somewhere and just flip it when you need to.
I spliced into the neutral safety switch in my jeep (automatic) and it will never go anywhere I don't want it too. The same could be done with an ignition
