I want to try to fit the biggest tires on my 95 yj with the least lift as I can. Right now I am running a RE 4.5" lift and revolver shackles. So I am wondering if anyone has some pictures of where they have trimmed their fenders for bigger tires.

So, you just want it too look good on the street or you want you be a ble to flex it out? ...I'd say maybe 35's max? I have 4in springs SOA and a 2in body and have cut away my fenders back to the firewall and my 38X14 SX's barely fit. Maybe it's just those SUPER flexy Pro Comps!

Here's a pic of my yj, with cut fenders.. Its a daily driver of 100 miles a day, I did it to help me fit the 35's better and flex better.
we used a 4" grinder with a cutting wheel to do it all.. looks better in person. Hope it helped, Scott <><

I'd probably take them off then draw out your intended cut line(Or use tape). See how many of the original mounting holes you can retain. See how many will have to be redrilled. My real clearence issues were at the firewall, and both the front and rear of the rear wheel well. Loppy has said he just zip ties the fenders on rather than bolting them in place now. I don't worry bout it anymore. Great feelin I must say having a DD.Lemeknow what cha think of these ideas.

Apparently you've never had to get out of your Jeep on the trail, and have to hold on to the side to walk. That has lotsa stiches and a tetanus shot written all over it |

Only the best stuff man!
The pic there is after about 4 different hack jobs. The first to remove the flares, then flattended it, then removed the front section, then cut it all they way up to the hood. Reason being is that they were SO bent from laying it on and into rocks, that I decided to just get rid of the problem. Now I can walk right through places where other jeep owners are about to because they just nicked their flares...or wouldn't even go through to begin with!! |
