while in the salvage yard yesterday I ran across a j4000 jeep truck having the 5-lug dana 60 in it. Is this axle a coarse spline unit? worth getting for a rebuilding-shorting maybe?

nope, it has 35 spline axles in it. it is a great axle IMHO. just a little pricey for replacement parts

wow! I saw an early ford at the yard yesterday that had the 5 lug 60!

AFAIK only the Jeep had the 35 spline axles.
