Stock A/C mount for 360.

I got a stock 79 a/c compressor mount for my 79 CJ7. However it didn't fit right when i went to put it on. I think it's the fact that the jeep has a 360, probably out of a wagoneer, and maybe stuff is a little different from the 304 that was offered that year. Does anybody know? Or am I putting the thing on wrong, looks like it hits the water pump. Anybody got one that will work, or need this one?

a/c mounts

304 and 360 are the same identical block and heads (externally). There are 2 different water pumps but that should not be a factor other than pulley alignment. Are you sure it is the correct bracket from a 360 ? (should be a cast bracket that attaches to the block and head and water pump) There are a few spacers and long bolts needed to attach the bracket so if your looking for the bracket to lay flat on all mounting surfaces, it doesn't...

define not fit right? theres three bolts on the bottom and the trangle on the top.

I would get both the alternator brackets and ac bracket as well.

My book didn't have a descent picture to tell what was going on. One tab seems to hit the water pump (probably what the non existent spacers are for) but the two wholes in the head seem to be too close together for the holes in the bracket. Was there a special alternator mount that tied into that bracket? It's been about a year since I scrapped the last wagoneer that I saw with the same mount. Probably just better to fab one up.

Here is my old 304 with a 360 AC mount used as a welding alternator mount. The mount is now back on a 360

Thanks for the picture. I think I might have the wrong bracket but I need to tear some stuff out to make sure.
